This report analyzes recent mentor feedback regarding their experiences with online learning materials. Out of 12 respondents, the majority had prior experience with online learning and were able to access materials easily. Despite this, some navigational issues were reported, notably due to blocked information. Most found the materials easy to read, though suggestions for improvement included increasing engagement and correcting technical errors. Many mentors felt that the online update contributed positively to their understanding of mentoring roles and the needs of students in placement.

Did you have trouble accessing and navigating the site? • Yes= 4 • N0=8 • Yes • some info was blocked by employer, and i had to confirm it was work related prior to continuing. • It wasn’t immediately clear to me how i worked through the update. As i spent time looking at it I managed to figure it out, but i have spent a lot of my own time looking at it.

what have you learned that you will take back to your mentoring role in practice? • Much better understanding of the NMC requirements. Role of the mentor • I now feel updated and understand the role for a mentor and what is needed from and for the student whilst they are on placement • Better summary writing • I need to have contact numbers displayed in the office • The discussion that the site provoked with other mentors and the sharing of ideas • Its a lot of work.
