LSC London CentralESF and Older People • Currently funding 105 projects in central London. • 17 projects where 30% or more of beneficiaries are aged 50+. • 5,332 beneficiaries aged 50+ to be supported in total – 19% of all beneficiaries to be supported. • Focus on lifelong learning – progressing to further education. • Four projects solely focussed on older people – include activity around ICT skill development, addressing barriers to employment, return to work training and work placements.
Wise Owls – The Age Works Project • Chris Walsh – Director Wise Owls Employment Agency • £278,000 project running from April 2005 – March 2007. • Designing and delivering equality and diversity audits to 200 SMEs and producing short course equality and diversity training and materials arising from the audits to SMEs’ employers, managers and trainers. • Providing 100 individuals aged 45 or over (60 of whom will be 50+) with work placements, preceded by IAG, employability “job fit” training and Skills for Life or other vocational training as required.
Wise Owls – The Age Works Project • 30 beneficiaries gaining Skills for Life Certificates (Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3). • 60 beneficiaries gaining Skills for Life Certificates (Levels 1 and 2). • 10 beneficiaries gaining Personal Effectiveness at Work Certificate (Level 3). • 50 beneficiaries moving into work.
