  2. King Hamlet • Married to Gertrude • Son: Prince Hamlet • King Hamlet was killed by his brother Claudius. King Hamlet went to take a nap and Claudius poured poison in his ear.

  3. Gertrude • Husband: King Hamlet. King Hamlet died. She then married Claudius (Hamlet’s Brother) • Son: Prince Hamlet • Had 3 Choices Including; • Not remarry and become Queen • Remarry • Pass Down Crown to Prince Hamlet

  4. Claudius • Brother: King Hamlet • Wife: Gertrude • Step-Son: Prince Hamlet • Claudius killed King Hamlet by pouring poison into his ear while he was napping. Killed his brother to become King.

  5. Question: • Claudius kills King Hamlet to become King. How? Why?

  6. Prince Hamlet • Father: King Hamlet • Mother: Gertrude • Step-Father: Claudius • Prince Hamlet is mad at his mother for not grieving over her husband’s death. He is also mad because of his Father’s death. • Has a “thing” with Opiel(Daughter of Polonius)

  7. Prince Hamlet’s Issues • Dead Father who was murdered. • Love • Mad at his Mother for not grieving over her dead husband.

  10. Opiel • Daughter of Polonius • Known for having a “thing” with Prince Hamlet • She is known for being different. Strong in the beginning and towards the end she crumbles.

  11. Horatio • Hamlet’s good friend • Sees King Hamlet’s ghost. Reason: Unnatural/Bad Death

  12. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern • Two distance friends of Prince Hamlet. • Hired by Claudius to spy on Hamlet. • Hamlet does figure this out

  13. Subplot #1 • Why would Gertrude marry Claudius? Why is Hamlet upset?

  14. Subplot #2 • Opiel and Prince Hamlet have a “thing”. Why is this not good? Is she wife material? No she is not. She is the King Adviser's daughter. They want to kill her because she is not worthy.

  15. Question • How can Prince Hamlet prove Claudius killed his dad, King Hamlet?
