A Bit of History • Established in 1961, the OECD groups together 30 member countries • With enlargement efforts to include Chile, Estonia, Slovenia, Russian Federation and Israel as members • And enhanced engagement with Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, and South Africa • Collects, analyzes and makes available statistics spanning the range of socio-economic activities • Maintains full publishing program with some 250 publications each year and maintenance of some 85 databases ESDS Conference 2008 – London, UK
