  3. Program Overview • Start Date: NOW! • Participation is a TAHQ Member Benefit • Application Forms are Available at www.txquality.org • The number of mentees accepted depends on the number of mentors

  5. What Mentors Can Expect • Tailored Plan (between you and mentee) • Fixed, Specified Period of Time • Personal Growth (see, do, teach) • Contribution to the Profession • Acknowledgement of Expertise • TAHQ Recognition toward CE’s

  6. What Mentees Can Expect • Structured Plan • Commitment from Mentor • Personal Growth and Development • Build Professional Relationship

  7. Would you make a good mentee? • Am I relatively new to my field? • Have I recently changed my professional focus? • Have I switched jobs recently, or often?

  8. Would you make a good mentee? • Am I preparing for CPHQ certification or other credential? • Do I want to progress further in my career? • Can you devote the time and energy to a structured approach?

  9. Would you make a good mentee? • Do you do better at professional development on your own or • while working with someone who has “been there”? (personality) • Is availability of a person you can work with an issue? (rural setting, network)

  10. Would you make a good mentor? • Is your professional growth at a level others would - Seek out - Do I stay current? (leadership and credentials) • Can you devote the time and energy to mentoring?

  11. Would you make a good mentor? • Do you want to help others grow professionally and does “passing the baton” sound intriguing? • Are you able to “stretch” a person’s thinking and let them apply what you’ve shared? (educator and facilitator)

  12. Would you make a good mentor? • Am I a good listener? • Can you share your relevant experiences without making them sound like their worthy of duplication? (attitude – abundance mentality)
