  3. “Masks” ≠ “Masks” • “We Don’t Know if Masks Work” • Surgical Masks vs. Disposable Respirators • CDC Interim Recommendations for Infection Control in Health Care Facilities: “Use a fit tested respirator, at least as protective as a National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved N-95 filtering facepiece (ie.   4. Personal Protective Measures • Obsessive Hand Washing • Sanitizing Gel • Disinfecting Wipes & Spray • Gloves • Masks • Extras: • Eye Protection • Gowns/Coveralls

  5. Proper Wear of A Disposable Mask • Proper Fit is Essential • Wearing of the Mask: • Wash Hands (20+ Seconds) • Touching Tapes or Tabs Only, Put Mask Over Nose & Mouth • Position Tapes Above and Below Ears & Tie or Cinch • Pinch the Nose Bridge and Adjust Under Chin to Make Seal • Change As Necessary

  6. Proper Removal of Masks • Wash Hands (20+ Seconds) • Take Hold of Ties from Back –Remove Off and Away • Drop in Waste Receptacle • Wash Hands

  7. Planning Considerations • Sanitizing Stations • Workforce Education • Fit Testing & Comfort • Masks can only be worn once
