Daily Tasks Pose for artists Photo shoots Follow strict routines of diets, sleep, & exercise Record rates of pay Apply make-up sometimes by them self Display clothing or products in commercials and/or fashion shows Models need to dress as fast as they can in fashion shows Will travel a lot Working closely with other people to have good photos

Working Conditions Where models work at: Photo studios Traveling places as London, Paris, & New York Sometimes outside in any weather Full time models could work for 7days a week for 2weeks straight & then work only 2days the following week & work between 6 and 12hrs Modeling could be busy when having a fashion show. It can also be tiring working long hours having pictures taken of you!

Earning & Benefits Part-time beginners may earn as little as $2,000 a year,  while supermodels can earn millions of dollars a year.  The least salary is around $23,000 & about half of all  models earn somewhere between $20,000 and $30,000 a year. However, successful  models  working  in large  US  cities can  make  much  more  than  this,  sometimes  more  than $100,000  a  year. You may have to pay to travel & also pay for your own make-up.

Career Path LEVEL  1 Modeling Student EARNINGS Unpaid to $5,000 a year REQUIREMENTS • Good interpersonal skills • Enrolled in a training program through a modeling agency RESPONSIBILITIES Learning about all aspects of modeling (posing and the art of movement, modeling terminology, personal health care, appearance maintenance, modeling agency procedures, carrying yourself with poise and confidence); doing a couple of photo shoots as a learning experience; building a portfolio.   LEVEL  2 Beginner Model (often still in school) EARNINGS $1,000 to $20,000 a year REQUIREMENTS • Some basic modeling training • Portfolio RESPONSIBILITIES Circulating your portfolio; maintaining your appearance; attending “go-sees” and auditions; working at photo shoots and fashion shows (possibly some acting); honing your modeling skills.

Career Path Continued LEVEL  3 National Professional Model EARNINGS $20,000 to $50,000 a year REQUIREMENTS • Training as a model • 1 to 3 years of experience in doing photo shoots, runway modeling, or acting spots • Solid demand for your modeling services • Preferably a high school diploma RESPONSIBILITIES Staying in good physical condition; working more often; developing a professional working manner; updating portfolio; checking in with agent regularly.   LEVEL  4 International Professional Model EARNINGS $40,000 to $1 million a year REQUIREMENTS • 1 to 5 years of experience in doing photo shoots, runway modeling, or acting spots • International demand for your modeling services RESPONSIBILITIES Maintaining your physical condition; working regularly around the world.

  11. Why do I want to be model? I would like to be a model because I know that I’ll be a good model. People also tell me that I should be a model. I love having my pictures taken.

  12. Why wouldn’t I be a model? I would be away from my family a lot. I would be wearing to much make-up New people!!
