  4. How does the Distributive Property Work? • You can use the Distributive Property to simplify the product of a number and a sum or the product of a number and a difference. 3 (x + 2) = (x + 2) + (x + 2) + (x + 2) = (x + x + x) + (2 + 2 + 2) = 3x + 3(2)

  5. Term • A number, a variable, or the product of a number and one or more variables. A A • X 2AB

  6. Constant • A term that has no variable. • The value of a “constant” remains the same all the time. 1 5 75 18

  7. Coefficient • A numerical factor of a term 2x 2 is the coefficient

  8. Like Terms • Terms with the same variable factor -2ab and 4ab xyz and yzx

  9. Page 53 in the Textbook: • Look at Problem 1 and Problem 2

  10. Page 54 in the Textbook: • Look at Problem 3

  11. On Page 54 • Do problems #4-12 even. • And Problems #20-24 even.
