Psalm 139:13-17 • 13  For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16  your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17  How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

  4. Created by God (v 13) • Murder – Exodus 20:13 • Promote Life – Deut 30:19 • Avoid Sexual Immorality – 1 Cor 6:13

  5. Designed by God (v 14) • Conception – DNA created • Conception – All physical traits determined • 22 days – Heart beats • Week 6– Eyes, Ears, Fingers and Toes formed • Week 6-11 – Grows 5x its size

  6. Designed by God (v 14) • Week 11 – Smiles, Frowns, Wiggles fingers and toes, Sucks thumb-showing preference for right or left • Baby is moving 50x each hour • 13 weeks – Ears pick up mom’s heartbeat, a sound that comforts the baby

  7. Designed by God (v 14) • 13 weeks – Ultrasounds have shown that babies have R.E.M. Sleep, indicating that babies may dream while in the womb. • 6 months – Everything has developed and fully functioning • 38-42 weeks - Born

  8. Holy for God (v 15) • God Created You • Jeremiah 1:5– “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”

  9. Predestined by God (v 16) • God’s Blessing is a Child: Psalm 127:3 – “Behold, Children are a gift of the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward.” • God Made You in His Image: Genesis 1:26-28; 5:1-3; 9:6 – Man was made in God’s image • God Gives Value: Psalm 8:5 (NIV) - 5  You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
