  4. Purpose • Educate students about the expectations of recruiters so that they can use that information to gain a competitive advantage over their peers when it comes to employment.

  5. Disscussion Starter • In the current open positions in your company, what would the typical day be like?

  6. Additional Questions • What is the starting salary and benefits for a new hire? • Where do the new hires go? Which location? Do they get to choose? • What is the company culture like? Is it more competitive or friendlier?

  7. Additional Questions • When looking to hire college graduates, what qualifications and experiences are you looking for? • What should you leave off the resume?

  8. Additional Questions • Many students are nervous that they will not enjoy the work once they are in the working world. Is it hard to find passion and motivation when working with computer programs? • What happens if I don’t know how to do something? Will I be responsible for learning new programs or will I be taught?

  9. Additional Questions • What does the long term future look like for IS? Will the job market ever reach a plateau? • How are companies able to continue to pay for implementing an IT solution ? • What companies have started to decrease the number of new projects?
