MASCOT a term for any person, animal, or object thought to bring luck[1] – colloquially (informally) includes anything used to represent a group with a common public identity, such as a school, professional sportsteam, society, military unit, or brand name. Mascots are also used as fictional spokespeople for consumer products, such as the rabbit used in advertising and marketing for the General Mills brand of breakfast cereal, Trix.
Your Task • Gather research about your favorite country • Develop a mascot for that country • The main part of your poster should be a large, hand-drawn picture of the mascot. • Include a paragraph to explain the mascot. • The remainder of the poster should include at least 10 facts you have learned. • Be colorful and creative. Texas LonghornBevo is the name of the mascot of the sports teams at the University of Texas at Austin, a Texas longhorn steer with burnt orange coloring. Bevo is one of the most recognized college mascots[1] and has even been called "the toughest-looking animal mascot in sports".[2] The shape of the Longhorn's head and horns gives rise to the school's hand symbol and saying, Hook 'em Horns. The current Bevo is fourteenth in the line of longhorns that have been the university's mascot.

Vancouver Olympic Mascots Sumi is an animal spirit who lives in the mountains of British Columbia. Like many Canadians, Sumi's background is drawn from many places. He wears the hat of the orca whale, flies with the wings of the mighty thunderbird and runs on the strong furry legs of the black bear. The orca is the traveller and guardian of the sea. The bear often represents strength and friendship. And the thunderbird — which creates thunder by flapping its wings — is one of the most powerful of the supernatural creatures. Quatchi is a young sasquatch who comes from the mysterious forests of Canada. Quatchi is shy, but loves to explore new places and meet new friends. The sasquatch reminds us of the mystery and wonder that exist in the natural world, igniting our imagination about the possibility of undiscovered creatures in the great Canadian wilderness. Miga is a young sea bear who lives in the ocean with her family pod, beyond Vancouver Island, near Tofino, British Columbia. Sea bears are part killer whale and part bear. (Miga is part Kermode bear, a rare white bear that only lives in British Columbia.)
Now, you should choose a Latin American country and prepare a mascot for that country. Be sure you explain (on the poster) the significance of your mascot and how it is a good choice for the country. As the symbol of the country, the mascot should embody something of the history, development, culture, concept and social background of the country and could play an important role for communication in political, economic, and cultural fields.
