In May 2002, RMR was awarded a contract by the U.S. Army to refurbish two GP-9 locomotives to military specifications. This comprehensive overhaul included complete remanufacturing, new high and low voltage wiring, and advanced wheel slip control systems. Both locomotives were refurbished to original OEM standards, and were delivered ahead of schedule by three months, with the first unit arriving in January 2003 and the second in May 2003. The contract also provided wiring diagrams, a one-year supply of consumables, spare parts, and maintenance documentation.

U.S. ARMYPROJECT 2002-2003 • In May 2002 RMR was the successful bidder for the U.S. Army to deliver two (2) completely refurbished GP-9 locomotives. • Both locomotives had to be completely re-manufactured to Military Specifications. • The overhaul included new High and Low voltage cabling and wiring plus a state of the art wheel slip control system. The trucks and car body were remanufactured to original OEM specifications. • The first locomotive was to be delivered to the Army in January 2003, with the second locomotive to be delivered in May 2003. • Both locomotives were delivered ahead of schedule by three (3) months. • The contract included delivery of complete wiring and mechanical diagrams, one (1) year supply of consumables, various spare parts and scheduled maintenance documentation.
