Who are we? • University of Zagreb (est. 1669) • more than 30 faculties and academies with 60.000 students and 8.000 total staff • FAZ - the oldest and leading high education agricultural institution in the Republic of Croatia • over 8500 Engineers, Masters and Doctors of Science degrees to date • 1700 students • 250 teaching staff

  2. Mission To develop and direct study programs towards the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for producing high-quality food on a competitive basis. To generate knowledge for use of renewable natural resources, protection of environment, as well as preservation of rural landscapes and cultural heritage of Croatia.

Short history 1919.founded as Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry 1925.first PhD thesis defended 1934.faculty moves to present location 1939.Jazbina, pomology, viticulture and enology experimental station, acquired 1958/59.first graduate study programme starts 1992.new reorganization and today’s title established

  6. High quality experimental station guarantee quality teaching • Maksimir (25 ha) • Intended for teaching and scientific research in farming cereals, industrial, garden and ornamental crops • Several on-hand labs and all necessary agricultural machines for carrying out field experiments

  7. High quality experimental station guarantee quality teaching • Jazbina (26 ha) • Located in the immediate vicinity of the Faculty at the slopes of Mount Medvednica
