  2. Born and Raised She was born on August 12, 1955. She grew up in Princeton, New Jersey, with her parents, her younger sister, Jane, and lots of pets. Growing up Ann was a big cat lover, but aside from that she and her family also had hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, turtles, and fish of all different kinds.

  3. Education and Career After graduating from Smith College, Ann became a teacher, she enjoyed it very much but she decided that she had better things in life so she became a children's book editor. She is now a full time writer.

  4. Inspired Books Ann gets the ideas for her books from different places. Some are even based on personal experiences, while others are based on childhood memories and feelings. Many are written on contemporary problems or events. MANY

  6. The Baby-Sitters Club This series is about a group of middle school girls living in a fictional town called Stoneybrook, Connecticut. They run a business called the Baby-Sitters Club. This is a club that helps parents find good baby-sitters for their kids. These girls have their club meetings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30 P.M to 6:00 P.M. The club runs financially on dues and fundraisers, and the baby-sitters write diaries of their jobs to help each other.

  7. Here Today This book is about Ellie an 11 year old girl whose mother has been careless and whose siblings are argumentative. She gets bullied and treated like she didn't exist along with her best friend, Holly. Her life is turned upside down when her mother decides to go into show business. Her mother has asked Ellie to call her Doris. As her life progresses, Ellie discovers she has more power than she thinks and can change her life no matter what the situation.

  8. Belle Teal 10 year old Belle Teal Harper lives with her mother and grandmother on the wrong side of the tracks, in a small rural city in the 1960’s. They don’t have much, but they have each other, and Belle Teal feels that she is rich with love and loyalty to her family and her best friends, Clarice and Little Boss.

A Corner of the Universe Hattie Owen enjoys the familiarity of her small town life, but during the summer she turns 12, her world is turned upside down with the arrival of an uncle no one has ever spoken about. Now that Hattie's uncle's "school" an institution for the mentally disabled is closing, Hattie's family must deal with a childlike young man whose existence they've denied for years.

She also wishes with all her heart that her best friend's ill father will recover. Like trimming the tree and "It's a Wonderful Life"; baking cookies and "White Christmas," On Christmas Eve is sure to bring new holiday magic to readers' lives.

  11. Main Street Flora and Ruby do not want to move to Camden Falls. But they don't really have a choice -- their parents are dead and their grandmother, Min, is taking them in. It's strange to be in a new place. But luckily, it's a very welcoming place.Min runs a sewing store, Needle & Thread, at the heart of Main Street in Camden Falls. There, Flora and Ruby become friends with Olivia, who likes to organize things, and Nikki, who lives on the wrong side of the tracks. Even if Flora and Ruby never expected it to, Camden Falls becomes their home . . . and its stories become a part of their stories.

  12. Snail Mail No More Best friends Elizabeth and Tara Starr are still totally different. Tara Starr accessorizes with glitter and sequins, and loves the spotlight. Elizabeth loves reading and writing poetry, and hates to be the center of attention. Though the two live far from each other, they continue to correspond regularly now, via E-mail. But distance and life events out of their control put the girls' friendship to the test. An unforgettable testament to the power of friendship.

  13. The Doll People This book is about a 100 year old china doll and her family who have been passed down from generation to generation in the same house with the same family. She has had a simple life doing what “regular live dolls do”. Her aunt has been missing for 40 years and has never returned to their old fashioned doll house. She meets other living dolls and her and her new best friend, Tiffany Funcraft, set out on an adventure to find Auntie Sarah.

  14. Annabelle Doll and Tiffany Funcraft go on an adventure with Auntie Sarah up to the attic to search for spiders. They stayed up in the attic to long that they got down as soon as Kate was awake so Auntie Sarah hid in the backpack. They went to school and went adventuring through the hallways. They ended up getting in the other back pack than Kate's. They went home with somebody else and ended up having an adventure to try to defeat Mean Mimi and save doll kind.   15. The Runaway Dolls Best friends Annabelle and Tiffany risk placing all of doll kind in danger when they run away while trying to prevent Tilly from being sent back to London before they can determine if she is Annabelle’s long-lost baby sister.
