Understanding Gerunds and Infinitives in English Grammar

This guide explores the use of gerunds and infinitives in English. It explains how to form gerunds by adding –ing to verbs and their functions in sentences, such as acting as direct objects or following prepositions. Gerunds also serve as subjects and can follow specific verbal phrases. The infinitive form is highlighted, detailing its usage after certain verbs and as a complement to indirect objects. Key differences between verbs that can take both forms without changing meaning, and those that do are also discussed, providing essential grammar insights for learners.
