The Commissary Council • MISSION: To provide an open forum for the commissary and vendor community whose goal is to collaboratively find solutions that promote the military quality of life and enhance the commissary business. • 23 member council made of Commissary focused member companies • One third of members rotate each year • Council membership requires strong commitment • Collaboration Groups focused on supporting DeCA, serving customers and growing sales

  5. saveourbenefit.org Roundtable Agenda • Effectively represent the value proposition of military resale • Update on Government Relations Strategy and Issues (Rossetti) • Update information on The Coalition to Protect Our Military Shopping Benefit (Nixon) • Provide forums and facilitate business opportunities that enhance the ability of DeCA and association members to achieve positive business outcomes • Break Out Sessions - Industry & DeCA working together • Open Forum General Session with Store Operations & Staff Executives • Update on Commissary Council Accomplishments and Plans

Chairman’s Perspective • Our ALA partnership with DeCA Leadership is healthy and stronger than ever • The efficiency and effectiveness of the military resale channel are the foundation of a public-private partnership that serve as a “best in class” model for all of America • The military industry and resale channel are under sustained attack: • Employment for working Americans and Military Families - 100,000 jobs • “Real Time” Patron savings - $6,500 family of four…$5.6 billion annually • MWR initiatives - $20 billion in 20 years • The“touch of home” and “quality of life” we have sworn to uphold • Ask yourself what YOU are personally doing to help the cause • We can face any challenge TOGETHER if we are ALL active and engaged
