The Environmental Multilingual Thesaurus Workshop organized by the UN Environment Programme took place in Geneva on April 14-15, 2004. This initiative focused on creating a comprehensive multilingual thesaurus for environmental terminology, facilitating indexing and retrieval of environmental information in various languages, including Basque, Catalan, Galician, and Valencian. The workshop aimed to revise and expand existing terminologies, based on historical efforts dating back to the 1980s, to enhance documentation tools for environmental management and policy. Participants included experts from Spain and Latin America.
