  3. Mandatory Grant • 1919 submissions received • 2nd payment to be made in November 2008 • Grants in process of being queried, and or approved and rejected • Occupational groups – 9 for ATR, 8 for WSP • Non levy payers to annually update by 30 June • FSAs to be available

  4. Strategic Cash Grant 2008/09 • Maximum of 20% of the SDL for expenses • Training in the period 1 January to 31 December 2008 • Due 31 March 2009 • Criteria and application form available on website • 6 criteria • For 2009/10 SCG to be capped – fund is R13 million

  5. Learnership Cash Grant 2008/09 • Due 31 March 2009 • Commencement in period 1 January to 31 December 2008 – extension requests allowed • Higher amount for people with disabilities – R27,000 vs R47,250 • For 2009/10 amount has increased • 1 year (12 months) – R11,000 (disabled R19,250) • 2 year (24 months) – R18,000 (disabled R31,500) • 3 year (36 months) – R27,000 (disabled R47,250)

Available to all employers who implement learnerships for learners regardless of population group and gender of the learner Tax deductions higher for learners with a disability Previously employed on commence R20,000 Previously unemployed on commence R30,000 Completion of learnership R30,000 Learnership Tax Deductions
