  2. For those of you who are new…. Fidlar has been in business since 1854 Land Records Software Provider since 1987 210 County Partners across 15 states PROUD NACRC MEMBER
  3. Why should you belong to and support NACRC? Industry’s best forum for networking Enhance your knowledge of today’s hot-topics Education, education, education Far too few people understand the role of the Recorders Office If you don’t toot your own horn, someone is likely to use it as a spittoon.
  4. Fidlar’s Belief in NACRC Education is the common value. We believe grass-roots education will further our industry like no other. Regional Educational Seminars. Annual Educational Seminars Exclusive publication to Fidlar Partners: “The Voice” Discussion of industry’s topics Leaning towards the “Edgy.”
  5. Recent Industry Article Law Professor from Wake Forest “We need a National Recording System” “Recorders offices today are the same as generations ago.”
  6. A good offense negates the need for a defense Introduction of the mess caused by MERS Recorders have met challenges they faced with an evolving recording world and changes in statute Enhanced capabilities to find information via many different search criteria Vastly improved document turnaround time. eRecording Replicating data to protect county and constituents Replicating via different means Electronic means Microfilm means
  7. Data Accessibility Accessibility of Recorders data has vastly improved, all while keeping the following in mind. Available on a regular basis Securing it from hackers/virus, etc Providing interfaces friendly to the multiple needs of the community Providing support to all users of data Determining appropriate usage fees Assuring information is timely Making sure restricted documents stay that way Including notification systems to help prevent land fraud Preventing against theft or misuse of data
  8. Still More! Utilization of AI software Software enhancements to increase the integrity of the recorded database Is it Green Acres or Grean Acres? Recognition of names Recognition of unique subdivision names Data integration with other county offices
  9. Myths and fallacies of a National System National system would cost exponentially more as you would be taking away competitive pressure. Loss of local knowledge Document turnaround times would suffer OCR methods would suffer due to multiple inconsistencies with submitted forms Chain of title would be increasingly difficult to determine States control real-estate law. This would be lost in a national system. Public access would suffer A national system would create a gap between the citizen and their government.
  10. Thank You We encourage you to become active in NACRC, immerse yourself in the educational sessions and don’t be shy to let the public know what you do and how incredibly important it is.
