You would ideally like to restart Chrome without losing tabs so that you can continue where you left off. This article shows how to restart Chrome without losing tabs.

  4. Launch your Google Chrome. Open the Tools menu and go to Options. Now, go to the Basics tab. The first section on the first page of options is referred to a “On Startup”. You will see an option of “Reopen the pages that were open last” there. 

  5. If your Google Chrome crashes, the next time you start it, you will have the option at the top of your window to restore your previous tabs, even if you haven’t customized the settings for tabs closed in the last session.
