  7. Sketchbook or Binder – Hardbound or spiral or 1”-1 ½” binder with unlined paper • Sharpies – two black, extra fine point • Additional materials based on student plans Materials

  9. Sketchbook assignments – 5pts per entry – max 25pts/week – due every Friday Assignments

  10. 4 large scale unit projects Assignments

  11. Projects: Rubrics provided at the beginning of all projects outlining how they will be graded Graded on areas such as: creativity, craftsmanship, work ethic and composition 100 points Assessment

  12. Target date is given at the start of each assignment. A hard due date is assigned a couple of days out. Expect that you will work both in class and outside of class Points deducted for late projects – 1 letter grade Behind on a project? Sign-up to finish it during GPS time, before or after school Plan ahead - this room is not always open to students Late Work

  13. Won’t complete assignment on time? Your responsibility to communicate with me in advance of the due date with a valid explanation of why you need more time If you have not worked to your fullest potential or made full use of class time you will not be allowed extra time to complete the assignment Late Work

  14. BEHAVIOR IN THE ART ROOM • I am the Teacher. I am in charge. I am here to teach. • You are the student. You are NOT in charge. You are here to learn. • Listen carefully. It is rude to talk when you are expected to be listening. You are not a rude person. • Follow Directions. Directions are important and often critical to your success in this class. • Be prepared. Come to class ready and willing to learn. • All school and system policies are enforced in this classroom. When the bell rings to START class: • At seats, work in progress or ready to go • When the bell rings to END class: • In seats, cleaned up, ready to tuck chairs in and leave • Lateness • Come in quietly—do NOT interrupt class • Absences • Must be excused and legitimate • Attendance lists are checked daily • You are responsible for making up class work and reviewing materials discussed in class • Students found skipping are given a ‘0’ for their weekly grade DAILY Expectations

  17. Cell Phones are a privilege that can be taken away at any point. Cell phones are not to be used to make phone calls or text. You may use them during studio time to listen to music. Art related apps may be used upon my permission when your assignments are completed. Music: Must be wearing ear buds. Music should not be loud enough for me to hear. No music with profanity or vulgarity. Cell Phones/Other Devices

Clean-up own workspace 5-10 minutes prior to the end of the block picking up all materials and returning them to their proper locations, i.e. where you got them from washing tables, chairs, tools, sinks, floor… logging off and returning ipad(if used) tucking in chairs Clean-up early = stay extra time to assist in additional clean-up tasks!!! Clean-up & Maintenance
