  2. Germ Layers and Symmetry • Platyhelminthes have three germ layers and are bilaterally symmetrical.

  3. Coelom and Digestive Tract Flatworms don’t have coeloms, because they don’t need the support. As for their digestive tract, it is saclike with only one opening.

  4. Cephalization and Segmentation • Flatworms are cephalizedand while some of them may look segmented, all of them are actually not segmented.

  5. Skeleton and Appendages • All species of Platyhelminthes have no skeletons and no appendages.

  6. Circulatory and Respiratory System • Platyhelminthes don’t have circulatory or respiratory systems.

  7. Reproduction and Habitat • Flatworms can reproduce asexually or sexually because they have both male and female reproductive organs.

  8. Habitat • Platyhelminthes reside in sheltered shores or at the bottoms of tide pools.
