  3. Vocabulary • Stressor – a stressor ranges from everyday annoyances to serious personal problems • Fight or flight response – is the process by which the body prepares to deal with a stressor

  4. Vocabulary • Adrenaline – this is the hormone that gives the body extra energy • Intense – extreme • Time management – strategies for using your time efficiently

  5. What is stress? • It is a normal reaction to certain situations or events in your life. • Examples of long-term physical effects • Not all stress is bad

  6. Causes of stress • In your opinion, what causes the most stress for teenagers? • Anything that causes stress is called a stressor • Stressors can be positive or negative

  7. Common teen stressors • Different people respond to stressors differently • Put these in order of 1 – 16, with 1 being the most stressful for you
