Be a member of the AgriTrue Forums • Registration Fields (in column on left?) AgriTrue Search Engine Method 1:  Interactive Map. A consumer can zoom in on the map of the US to their location then start clicking on profile links of producers that are near them.  This could use a Google Maps application.  The map itself can have Blue Icons for AgriTrue Home Producers and Green Icons for AgriTrue Commercial Producers.  The Icons will link to that Producer's page.  The Home Producer will only be included in the Search Engine if they choose to do so, and they will pick which information to be made public (likely just email, maybe an address, and maybe products produced). Method 2: Location Search The consumer can search by Region, State, County, City, Zip (and with Zip or City they can then select a mileage radius).  All producers within that area will come up as a result listing (again in Blue for AgriTrue Home Producers and in Green for AgriTrue Commercial Producers).  The producer's name will link to their Producer Page . Method 3: Product Search The consumer can search by which product they are looking for - I imagine a list of checkboxes.  This would have to be tied in with Method 2 above or else a consumer could select "Chicken Eggs", and get hundreds of producers across the whole country.  So, I think the Location Search would have to be activated to allow a Product Search. I am thinking that this can all be on one well-designed page.  Once you zoom in on the map to a certain level (maybe at about the 150 mile radius) then the list auto-populates.  As you continue to zoom in, only the producers visible on the map are populating the list.  If you scroll to the right or left, then the list re-populates.  You could also select or deselect certain products, and the map and list would adjust.  I've seen some real estate websites like this that were great. Commercial Producers will always be listed first in the search results. In the listing of producers, their producer level (Silver, Gold, Platinum) will be listed. In the listing of producers, their “rating” from other members will be listed. An AgriTrue Home Producer Page, will include as much demographic information as desired (I would imagine it would be less than a Commercial Producer) • 2. They can load up to 5 pictures. • 3. They can link to their own website/blog/facebook/twitter/myspace. • 4. They can be included in the AgriTrue Search Engine on the AgriTrue site - listed in BLUE – If they choose • 5. An AgriTrue Commercial Producer Page, that has as much demographic information as the producer wants to divulge (from my experience, farmers will want to provide as much info as possible) • 2. They can load up to 20 pictures • 3. They can link to their own website/blog/facebook/twitter/myspace. • 4. They can be included in the AgriTrue Search Engine on the AgriTrue site  - listed in GREEN • 5. They will be able to download a few automatically generated PDF's •     -  One that has the AgriTrue logo and their information on it •     -  One that has the AgriTrue logo and the list of AgriTrue Standards they have agreed to •     -  The option to include the barcode scan on these pages •     -  Informational brochures on AgriTrue (with their information on it if they desire)... "XYZ Farm is a proud AgriTrue Producer..." • 6. They can have contact information - must have a valid email address. • 7. They can list visiting hours at their farm if they have them • 8. They can list all the places they sell their products (Farmer's Markets, Retail Stores, CSA's, Direct to Consumer, etc.) Basic Demographics 1. Name(s) - could be a family.  Have the option to list 2 or 3 people? 2. Physical Address 3. Email address 4. Website/Blog - if they have one 5. A Producer must show evidence of teaching classes at their site and complete an online “Intro to Permaculture” webinar by Jack to be a Gold level producer. A Producer must show evidence of successful completion of a Permaculture Design Course and show evidence of teaching classes at their site to be a Platinum level producer. Upload capabilities of scanned in certifications. Capabilities to have a computer based webinar that tracks which member completed it. Area for registered users to leave comments about classes that the Producer taught.
