  1. The Redge

  2. Located in the heart of Shimla is the famous tourist attraction known as The Ridge. The Ridge is the hub of all cultural activities of Shimla. It is situated along the Mall Road, which is the famous shopping center of Shimla. Mall Road is the main street in Shimla the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. Constructed during British colonial rule,Most major places of Shimla like Lakkar Bazaar, Mall, Scandal Point, Jakhoo hill, etc. are connected through the Ridge.

  3. As far as I remember reading, most of the hill stations in the lower reaches of the Himalayas were built during the Biritsh Rule in India , as summer respites from the oppressive heat in the Plains. Shimla in fact was the Summer Capital of India for quite a long while. The construction is fairly simple, with official buildings, guest houses and retreats for British officials , a few schools and a Mall Road which is a name given to a shopping arcade/marketplace.India regained her independence in 1947, but the naming convention carried on and these arcades are known as Mall Roads ever since

  4. Church, Shimla, is the second oldest church in North India, after St John's Church in Meerut. It is a parish in the Diocese of Amritsar in the Church of North India. • Built in the neo-Gothic style in 1857 to serve the largely Anglican British community in what was formerly called Simla, Christ ChristChurch is situated on The Ridge where it stands out as one of the prominent landmarks of Shimla. The silhouette of Christ Church is visible for miles around the vicinity of Shimla city. Christ Church remains one of the enduring legacies of the British Raj.
