  2. MENTORING Why? Introduction 2010/2011 CQI Cumbria Objectives • To provide assistance and support for those members seeking to • promote/develop their knowledge base within the Quality arena • To provide a support network for SME Quality personnel

  4. MENTORING What? The objectives of a Mentor • To offer assistance with becoming a member or progressing membership to a higher level. • To assist with completion of Continued Professional Development (CPD) forms. • To offer help and advice on quality issues confronted in the work place. • To agree goals and targets with the person being mentored. • To monitor progress of the person being mentored to ensure personal development. • To ensure a person’s skills, knowledge and their professional performance is enhanced and improved.

  5. MENTORING Who? Who can be a mentor? Need the following attributes: Can be ANY member at ANY grade! All members can help with other members or non-members Be willing to give up time to help others Can be via phone, email, on-line forum or in person Have knowledge or understanding in a subject area Quality Knowledge skills, understanding of the membership process, sector specific knowledge, etc.
