  2. No God = No “future” • Mankind wants to follow his own way… • However, what about judgment day? • 2 Thess 1:6-10a – see vv. 8-9 • Make a choice • Be faithful to God? • Do what you want to do? Get rid of judgment day… • Get rid of God all together and live as you please… • The fool said in his heart… • There is no more future, no perspective, no goals

No God = No “past” • Mankind took care of one problem and created another • With no God, where do we come from? • Bible is clear: Gen 1:1, 26-27 • Evolution? • Where do we come from? • Evolution sounds good in our society • The fool said in his heart… • At least this took care of it after giving up on God… • …or so man thought…

  4. No God = No “present” • With no future and no past, mankind is lost • Eternal perspective vs. here and now • No here and now = man lost his identity (Gen 1:26-27) • Dan 4 – the vision of Nebuchadnezzar • 4:14-17 – the vision, and Daniel interprets the vision • 4:29-30 –12 months go by… • 4:31-33 – the decree is carried out • See 4:33 • Without God we are not much more than an animal • The fool said in his heart…

No God = No “present” • No God = No present = no morals, no standards… • We start worshipping an idol • We were created to worship God – see Eccl 3:11 • But we worship an idol • Not any idol… • Enlightenment, man-made knowledge • Mankind dismisses the Designer all together • Society thinks of God as an excuse for the non-intellectuals • The fool said in his heart… • But even more so, Prov 26:12

  6. What to do? • Phil 2:1-16 • Three building blocks for our lives • 2:2-5 – Humility • It is not about me • 2:12-16 – Obedience • Prov 15:33 • Obey God! Acts 4:29, Phil 2:16 • 2:2 – Love • Love as God defines it!
