About Me. Where I Grew up. I grew up in Clintonville, in Columbus Ohio. It’s a liberal enclave just north of OSU. Know for its small business, having one of the highest populations of LGBQ families in the state, and having a distinct local nationalism.

  1. About Me

  2. Where I Grew up • I grew up in Clintonville, in Columbus Ohio. • It’s a liberal enclave just north of OSU. Know for its small business, having one of the highest populations of LGBQ families in the state, and having a distinct local nationalism. • I went to a catholic school, although I don’t practice a religion. • I was into punk rock, and politics growing up

  3. My professional career After graduating from OU in 2009 I went on to spend 4 years as a union organizer, community organizer and nonprofit director. Organizing low income workers in Chicago, rural Missouri and rural Ohio, as well as students in Ohio.

  4. I went on to found a non-profit, The Ohio Student Association, became its first Director, and raised 120,000 thousand dollars for the organization.

Deeply committed to system Change • I ran twice for student government president losing both elections by less than 1% in 2007-2008, in 2014 I helped the student power ticket take power. • Worked for worker rights and the right of all people to have a seat at the table of power. • When my high school gym teacher was fired for being gay, my sister and I spearhead Columbus wide movement to get her reinstated. • I’m help register and mobilize over 4,000 students to the polls with the Ohio Student Association.

  9. Social Entrepreneurship • All three of my siblings have discussed opening a small business together that both generates revenue and provides a net social good for the community. • With the decline in unions in the unites states I’m interested in alternative economic models that provide good jobs, revitalize communities, and allow workers to feel ownership over the places they work. • Worker Cooperatives is an area of interest to me.
