  3. Galatians 5:16-17 ESV 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, & you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, & the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

  4. Romans 6:1-3 ESV 1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

  5. Romans 6:4-5 ESV 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.

  6. Romans 6:6-8 ESV 6 We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. 7 For one who has died has been set free from sin. 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

  7. Romans 6:12-13 ESV 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instru-ments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.

  8. Romans 6:14-15 ESV 14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. 15 What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!

  9. Romans 6:16 ESV 16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?

  10. Jesus makes it possiblefor us to serve Godrather than self.

  11. Luke 9:23 ESV And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

  12. Deny yourself & don’t present yourself to sin Make full use of the graceavailable to you in Christ: • Present yourself to God, & let Him lead you & use you.
