  4. Product Feature and Technology

  5. What is surface display? Display offering whole new user experience with following attributes • Direct interaction: • Users can actually "grab" digital information with their hands and interact with content through touch and gesture • Multitouch contact: • Surface recognizes many points of contact simultaneously, not just from one finger as with a typical touch screen, but up to dozens of items at once. • Multiuser experience: • The horizontal/vertical form factor makes it easy for several people to gather around surface computers together, providing a collaborative, face-to-face computing experience. • Object recognition: • Users can place physical objects on the surface to trigger different types of digital responses.

  6. Unique Surface User Experiences Can recognize and respond to more than 50 discrete simultaneous contacts Multi-touch Multi-user, Multi-Application Respond to multiple touches so that several people can work and play at the same time. All of this functionality enables a new range of social, multiuser applications

  7. Unique Surface User Experiences Support Gesture and respond to object Gesture Responding to object • Users can use gestures to interact with Surface. They can brush or move their fingers or hands across the screen and see that it responds to more than just a stationary touch. Surface facilitates a social experience after a second or third person joins in. Surface responds to objects. For example, in the Water attract application, when someone places an object on the screen, water ripples will bounce off the object.

  8. Unique Surface User Experiences: Tag Surface tag gives your application advantages over processing raw images Type Advantages • Tagged objects are more computation-efficient: The tags are small and well-defined, so specialized code in the Vision System can locate and track them quickly, accurately, and efficiently. • The Surface platform inherently recognizes tags, so it is easy to write an application that uses tags. (In contrast, an application that uses raw images must include its own image-recognition algorithms.) • Each tag stores a distinct binary code value, so an application can distinguish one object from another. Surface Vision System recognizes special tagged objects that are marked with a special pattern of dots called tags. A tag consists of a geometric arrangement of infrared reflective and absorbing areas. Byte tag Store 8bit data Identity tag Store 128bit data Can be used for Biz card , Reward card, Flyer, Coupon, etc

  9.
