Absent students • Since you do not have the textbook, and you do not have the benefit of talking to peers, use the following slides, links and video clips to help you out. • In a moment, I am going to have you click on a link.   3. The first read… • Follow along to see if you can figure out what happens to these characters. • Use the video clip from before to help you!

  4. Read #1 Follow up questions • So…what happened? Who was left alive at the end? • How do you know?

  5. The second read… • This time we will have a different narrator. See if you are able to answer the following questions: • How did the redcoats know where and how to find the highwayman? • How did the highwayman know NOT to return to the inn? What did Bess make sure happened so he would not come back? • Think of her sacrifice. Was it noble (meaning for a good purpose), or was it pointless?
