The Sumatran Tiger: Habitat, Diet, and Conservation Efforts

The Sumatran Tiger, native to the tropical rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia, thrives in diverse environments like swamps and grasslands. Recognizable by its reddish-yellow fur and thinner black stripes, it is unique among tigers for its partially webbed feet, aiding in swimming. Males weigh between 220-310 pounds, while females range from 165-245 pounds. Preyed upon primarily by humans, their population is dwindling, with fewer than 500 remaining due to habitat loss and poaching. Conservation efforts are in place to protect this endangered species.
