  2. The Objection icon was introduced as part of the Response Redesign in SERFF v5.6.  This icon provides the industry with a quick look at Objections on various parts of the filing without having to go to the Correspondence tab and view the Objection Letter.  The Objection Letter remains available on the Correspondence tab and shows all the related Objections. The Objection Icon • The Objection icon will only show for "open" Objections.  An open Objection is one that has been included on a submitted Objection Letter that does not have a corresponding Response Letter.  • The icon does not display for Objections the state has not yet submitted to the industry.  • The icon is removed once a Response Letter is submitted for the Objection Letter on which the Objection appeared.

  3. The Objection icon may appear in two places: The Objection Icon 1. On a schedule item The Objection icon may appear next to a Form, Rate/Rule, or Supporting Document schedule item.  This indicates that one or more open Objections point to that schedule item.  The state has made this association in their Objection Letter.  Typically, the industry will want to revise this schedule item, but not always.  See the Online Help sections on Revising Schedule Items and Building a Response Letter for more information.

  4. The Objection icon may appear in two places: The Objection Icon 2. In Filing at a Glance Filing at a Glance is the area at the top of every filing.  The Objection icon will appear in this area in two cases:      (1)  The state has sent an Objection Letter, but it does not have individual Objections.  In such cases, the industry user must refer to the Objection Letter on the Correspondence tab for details.   (2)  One or more Objections exist that do not point to a specific schedule item.  The state may use this technique for general Objections or missing information.

  5. Click here to see Objections related to form When an Objection icon is present, the user may click the icon to view the Objection details. The Objection Icon For example, if Form A and Form B both have Objections, the icon for Form A will show Objections related to that form, but not Objections related solely to Form B.  Since an Objection can relate to multiple schedule items, it may appear within the Objection detail of more than one icon.  When there are multiple open Objections for a  schedule item, one icon will appear but all the Objections will be listed in the Objection detail window.
