OCCI: Clark Arctic Research Initiative • Three themes: • What are the regional and global effects of changes in the Arctic on sea ice extent, ocean circulation and climate? • What are the implications of these changes on: 1) permafrost surrounding the Arctic Ocean, 2) river chemistry and flow, 3) nutrient and carbon transport from the land to the sea, and 4) coastal erosion and sediment transport? • What are the current and likely future effects on ecosystems within and beyond the Arctic?

  8. OCCI: Arctic Research Initiative • Five year, $10M program - currently in Year 2 • $4.1M allocated from Clark funds • $0.8M from Comer and OCCI funds • 33 awards
