  1. WELCOME TO ZANZIBAR TOURS AND TRAVEL

  2. ZANZIBAR ISLAND THE TROPICAL JEWEL ISLAND ON THE EAST AFRICAN COAST

  3. ABOUT ZANAZIBAR ISLAND • Zanzibar is an archipelago made up of Zanzibar and Pemba Islands, and several islets. It is located in the Indian Ocean, about 25 miles from the Tanzanian coast, and 6° south of the equator. • Zanzibar Island (known locally as Unguja, but as Zanzibar internationally) is 60 miles long and 20 miles wide, occupying a total area of approximately 650 square miles. • It is characterised by beautiful sandy beaches with fringing coral reefs also many activities, and the magic of historic Stone Town which is said to be the only functioning ancient town in East Africa. • Zanzibar has numerous attractions, from the white sandy beaches, the clove plantations, the slave market, the colourfully dressed inhabitants, the beautiful hotels and the enchanting culture.

  4. ZANZIBAR BEACHES The famous spice island with exotic smells and outstanding beaches

  5. Zanzibar island is arguably the best beach getaway in east Africa, offering unbeatable tropical white sand beaches along with lush tea plantations, incredible history, and a fascinating culture. This semi-autonomous part of Tanzania, which sits 20 miles off the mainland in the Indian Ocean, is technically an archipelago. It contains numerous small islands, and two large island. One is Unguja (the main island, referred to informally as Zanzibar), and Pemba. The islands’ relatively small size and ease of navigation means you’re never far from a beach when you’re in Zanzibar  • Some of the great Zanzibar beaches include Paje, Kendwa, Nungwi, Kizimkazi, Pongwe, and Stone Town with each being unique and mesmerizing in their own way.

  6. EXAMPLE OF BEST BEACHES • Matemwe • Ras Nungwi • Pongwe • Kendwa • Chwaka • Paje • Bwejuu • Kiwengwa • Kizimkazi • Mnemba

  7. Matemwe Matemwe is famous for its wide, windswept beaches and extreme tides. This is not the best beach for swimming, but is perfect for kitesurfing, reef walking, kayaking and sailing.

  8. Nungwi Nungwi is unique because the tide rarely fluctuates here unlike some other parts of the island. This means you can swim at almost any time of day. The beach has the classic white-sand-and-palm-trees vibe that visitors from afar treasure.

  9. Pongwe • Pongwe is one of the more remote beaches in Zanzibar. The tide comes up very high here, making it a great place to swim.

  10. Kendwa • It’s a great place if you’re looking for undisturbed lounging, broken up by dips in the crystal clear water.

  11. Chwaka Chwaka is a broad inlet fringed by mangrove lagoons that provides a home for fish and marine animals. It’s not great for swimming as the water is pretty busy with sea life, but it makes for a unique walk in shallow water.

  12. Paje • Paje isn’t just a beach but a small beach town, buzzing with tourists enjoying the bungalows, restaurants and beach bars.

  13. Bwejuu it is the best place to observe raw, untouched beach beauty.

  14. Kiwengwa • If you like to keep modern comforts nearby when you’re at the beach, Kiwengwa is the beach for you. Several luxury hotels line this beach, but even though it’s a high-traffic area, the beaches are still perfectly pristine.

  15. Kizimkazi • If you like to keep modern comforts nearby when you’re at the beach, Kiwengwa is the beach for you. Several luxury hotels line this beach, but even though it’s a high-traffic area, the beaches are still perfectly pristine.

  16. Mnemba • the small island of Mnemba has arguably some of the whitest sand beaches and bluest waters in the world.
