  3. Types of Fires Type A = combustibles (wood, paper) Type B = flammables (gasoline, oil, grease) Type C = electrical Type D = flammable metals

  4. PRIORITY of fire suppression is to SAVE LIVES! The extinguishers you have on the boat are “1st Aid” to knock or slow the fire down until occupants can vacate or help arrives. P.A.S.S. Pull Aim Squeeze Sweep

  5. If your boat catches fire: • Come to a full stop • Turn so fire is downwind • Throw burning materials overboard if possible • Attempt suppression • Abandon ship if necessary
