  1. The Interlopers Paragraph (Theme)… The Theme of a story is almost never stated outright, instead it must be inferred from all the information we know about a work. Write a persuasive paragraph in response to the question: who are “The Interlopers” and how do they add to the theme of the story? or what is the theme of “The Interlopers?” • Paragraphs should include: • A hypothesis (topic sentence) • Evidence (this takes the form of a quotation) • Your interpretation (explain how the evidence demonstrates the hypothesis is true.) • Avoid the use of: “I think” write in the 3rd person.
