  1. STEM Fair Project FARTHEST FLYING PAPER AIRPLANE Jeremiah Fuller| Mrs. Wilson| NorthvieW Elementary

  2. Statement of the Problem • My question is which paper airplane can fly the farthest?

  3. Project Overview • My stem project is about paper airplanes. I wanted to find out which airplane can fly the farthest. I went in my paper airplane book and research on paper airplanes. I picked three paper airplanes from the book and there names was the Long-Distance Glider, Avro Canada CF-105 and the Super Tiger Moth.

  4. Research • Summary : • Mostly the best paper airplanes came from Japan. • Some paper airplanes have three pieces of paper to make the whole thing. • Paper airplanes must not only look good but must be able to do long glides, great loops, or barrel rolls, and all kinds of other stunts.

  5. Variables • Independent Variable - What changed on purpose is the type of airplane. • Dependent Variable - I hope the distance would go farther than before. • Controlled Variable - The way the paper airplane was made.

  6. Hypothesis • My prediction was that I thought the long distance glider can fly the farthest because the way it was made.

  7. Materials • 8 ½ x 11 inch paper • Stapler • Staples • Tape Measure

  8. Procedure • Get materials together. • Make airplanes. • Throw airplanes. • Measure how far the planes were. • Record the results. • Repeat 3 times.

  9. Data/Observations

  10. Conclusion • My prediction was wrong because the airplane that I thought would be the farthest was the shortest. The data says that the Avro Canada CF-105 flies the farthest.
