  4. Bamidbar/Numbers 21:5 "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this miserable food."

  5. The Fiery Serpents • Now they will experience more bad consequences for their bad choices. • The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people • They bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.

  6. The People Respond • They said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us." • Moses prayed for the people • Moses made a serpent out of bronze and set it on a pole.

  7. The Bronze Serpent • Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the pole, just like the LORD told him. • If a serpent bit any person, when they looked to the bronze serpent, they lived.

  8. Yeshua and the Bronze Serpent • Just like Moses raised the serpent up in the wilderness • Yeshua, too, must be lifted up so that whoever believes on Him may have eternal life. • Faith in Him alone gives eternal life.

  9. Yochanan/John 3:14-16 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

  10. Yeshua Lifted Up • Yeshua was telling Nicodemus that as the serpent was lifted up on a pole • Yeshua would be lifted up on a cross. • We need to look by faith at Yeshua whogives eternal life.

  11. Let’s Learn Hebrew • English - snake, or • Hebrew - Nachash(naw-khawsh').

  12. What Did We Learn Today? • The LORD sent fiery serpents to punish Israel for complaining. • Moses placed a bronze serpent to bring healing to those who looked by faith at it. • Yeshua was lifted up to bring eternal life to mankind.
