  3. Skip count to solve these problems… • There were 4 puppies. Each puppy got 2 treats. How many treats in all? • 8 • What did you skip count by? • 2

  4. Count by 2’s • 2,4,6,8 • __,__,__,__ • 10,12,14,16 • Finish this pattern • 18,16,14, • __, __, __, __ • 12,10,8,6

  5. Skip count by 5’s • __, __, 45,50,55,60 • 35,40 • 5, __, 15, 20, __, 30, 35, __ • 10,25,40

  6. Skip counting by 10’s • 70, __, 50, __, __, 20, 10 • 60,40,30 • Did you notice a pattern when you skip count by 10…starting with 10? • The pattern of numbers in the ones place is 0.

  7. Word Problems • You can use patterns to count. It’s called skip counting. You can count by 2’s to count pairs of shoes faster. • If you have 4 pairs of shoes, how many shoes do you have? • 8
