  2. Notes • HAVE YOU EVER HAD TO VACUME YOUR ROOM? WHEN YOU DO WATCH CLOSELY BECAUSE YOU WILL SEE THE DIRT AND SCRUBS START TO MOVE TOWARDS THE VACUME CLEANER CLEANING UP DEBRIS LEFT BEHIND THE OUTER SPACE.

  3. Notes • When a large star runs out of “fuel” it can no longer support it’s heavy weight. The pressure from the stars massive layers of hydrogen press down forcing the stars to get smaller and smaller. Eventually the star will get even smaller than an atom. Imagine that for a second, an entire star squashed into smaller than a tiny atom.

  4. Notes • It is really quite simple. If you take a sponge the size of a soda can, you can easily squish it in your hands until it is completely covered. But here is the interesting part. If you make something smaller by squishing it it’s gravity becomes much stronger, imagine then, if you squash a star into the size of an atom, how powerful it’s gravity would become.

  5. Notes • The idea of a body so massive that even light could not escape was first put forward by geologist John Michell in a letter written to Henry CSociety:If the semi-diameter of a sphere of the same density as the Sun were to exceed that of the Sun in the proportion of 500 to 1, a body falling from an infinite height towards it would have acquired at its surface greater velocity than that of light, and consequently supposing light to be attracted by the same force in proportion to its vis inertiae, with other bodies, all light emitted from such a body would be made to return towards it by its own proper gravity.—John Michell[2]avendish in 1783 to the Royal
