Pakistan faces a severe energy crisis, ranking low in global energy consumption and production. With only 12% of its hydel potential developed, there is significant room for growth. Currently, per capita electricity consumption in Pakistan is just 470 kWh compared to Malaysia's 2,708 kWh and Singapore's 6,775 kWh. The Generation Expansion Plan (2007-2030) outlines the need for an additional 32,512 MW by 2012 and 93,831 MW by 2025. This presentation explores effective strategies for harnessing hydropower to drive economic development and improve quality of life.
