  2. TIPS FOR PAPER 2 QUESTION 1 • Begin the sentences with CAPITAL LETTERS. • End them with a full stop. • Check your spelling. • Use specific vocabulary. • Mixture of simple, compound and complex sentences. • Write grammatically correct sentences. • Good handwriting, please.

  3. QUESTION 2A • Lift the relevant information correctly. • Check the spelling. • Check for commas. • Check the BIG and small letters. • Easy to get marks but also easy to loose them. • Neat handwriting, please.

  4. QUESTION 2B • The choice must be correctly written. • Facts + supporting details. • Elaborate your points. • Grammatically correct sentences. • Check your spelling & punctuation. • Write simple sentences to avoid errors. • Again, your handwriting.

  13. QUESTION 2 B • I would choose camping at Taman Rimba because I like outdoor activities. It will be very interesting and exciting because I have never been to Taman Rimba before. • The fee RM200 is reasonable because I get to camp for 3 days and 2 nights. I only need to bring blankets, matches and a torchlight. It will be a very good experience for me to sleep in the tent. • Besides camping, there will be a cooking competition. I can take part in the competition because I always help my mother cooking.

  15. 1. This is Encik Mazlan. • 2. He is forty years old. • 3. Encik Mazlan lives in Taman Kaya. • 4. He is a good and caring man. • 5. Last Sunday evening, Encik Mazlan and his family went to a circus in town. • 6. He drove his new Perodua Alza to go there. • 7. They reached the circus site at 8 p.m. • 8. Encik Mazlan bought four tickets for his family.

Encik Mazlan and his family were very excited to see the show. • 12.A few clowns and acrobats performed their acts. • 13. There were also some horses and seals showing their skills. • 14. All the people cheered and clapped their hands. • 15. After the show, they went for dinner at a restaurant. • 16. Encik Mazlan and his family went home at 11 p.m . • 17. They were very tired but happy on that day.

He likes to take his family out for an outing during the school holiday. • Last Sunday, Encik Amin took his family to a bird park. The bird park is located near a museum in Taiping, Perak. He drove his new Proton Exora to go there. They reached the bird park at 10 a.m. Encik Amin bought five tickets at the ticket counter. After that, they went into the bird park.

  18. They saw many kinds of birds in the large bird cages. There were mynahs, sparrows, hornbills and swans. They spent two hours looking at the birds and taking some photographs. • In the afternoon, they found a nice place for a picnic. They took out the food and had lunch under a shady tree. • After they had finished eating, everybody helped to pack up the things. They went home feeling very happy.

  24. Answer: Q 2B • I would choose Rozy the Singing DolI because my cousin loves dolls very much. It is a very beautiful doll and my cousin will be very happy to receive it as a birthday present from me. The price is RM60. Although the price is quite high, I feel it is worth buying because I love my cousin very much. She will also get an additional dress if I buy the doll. Rozy the Singing Doll can sing three songs and has two blinking eyes. It only needs two batteries to function. I can buy the doll at Suria Toy Store which is only a stone’s throw away from my house.

This is Ali. • He is ten years old. • Ali lives in Taman Jasa. • He is a good and helpful boy. • Last Sunday, Ali was cycling home from his tuition class. • Suddenly, he saw a house on fire. • There was a lot of smoke coming out from the house. • Quickly, Ali ran to the nearest telephone booth. • He called the fire station and told them about the fire. • He also gave them the address of the house. • A few minutes later, Ali heard a loud siren. • The fire engine had arrived to put out the fire. • The firemen immediately worked very hard to douse the fire. • Later, a few reporters came and interviewed Ali and the firemen. • Ali went home feeling very glad because he had done a good deed.

  29. This is Zairul.He is eleven years old. Zairul lives with his loving family in Kampung Sena. He is a good and brave boy. Zairul and his brother, Amir like to go fishing at a river near their village. Last Sunday, Zairul and Amir went fishing at the river. They searched for a nice spot to fish. After they had found the spot, they hooked on their baits and started to fish. Suddenly, Amir slipped and fell into the river. He cried loudly for help as he could not swim very well. Quickly, Zairul jumped into the river and swam towards his brother. The current was very fast and the river was quite deep. Zairul swam as quick as lightning and saved his brother from drowning. Amir was very relieved and thanked his brother for saving his life.

  31. SECTION C Mak Jenab who is fifty years old lives with her children in Kampung Jambu. Her husband passed away 15 years ago because of a tragic road accident. Mak Jenab is a loving and dedicated mother. She earns her living by selling nasi lemak around her neighbourhood. Last Sunday, Mak Jenab woke up early in the morning to prepare the nasi lemak. She cooked the nasi lemak and packed it in the banana leaves. Most of the villagers liked to buy her nasi lemak because it was delicious and cheap too.

  32. Her two sons, Ahmad and Husin helped her to sell the nasi lemak. They carried the rattan basket full of nasi lemak and sold them to the villagers. Many villagers came and bought their nasi lemak. After finished selling the nasi lemak, Mak Jenab’s sons went home. They gave the money to their mother. Mak Jenab saved the money in a glass container. The money would be used for her son’s education. Mak Jenab was so proud of her sons. She hoped that they will be successful in the future.

  33. QUESTION 3 • Kampung Damai is a very peaceful village. All the villagers live together happily and they always help each other. Some of the villagers rear cows, geese, chickens and ducks. • One windy night, a burglar went to the village. He wore a mask. The burglar climbed into Mak Limah’s house through a window. He opened her cupboards and took all her money and jewellery. • After stealing, the burglar sneaked out of Mak Limah’s house. It was a dark night and the burglar could not see clearly. He accidentally knocked a vase and it caused a loud noise. Mak Limah’s geese heard the noise and saw the burglar. They quickly chased and pecked the burglar. While running, the burglar dropped the sack of money and jewellery.

  34. Mak Limah who heard the burglar’s cries wentout of her house. Her geese chased the burglar out of the village. Mak Limah was so happy because she got all her money and jewellery back. She was very proud of her geese. Mak Limah loved her geese very much and took care of them very well.
