  2. Conclusions • Conclusions must actually conclude your essay. • You can conclude your essay in a number of ways, but you must always have a conclusion.

  3. Conclusion • You should start your conclusion with a Transition such as: In conclusion, To wrap it all up, Finally, etc…. • The best way to conclude your essay is to Re-state your Thesis. • The best way to restate your thesis is to take each point and turn it into a sentence. • After you have restated your thesis, you must then include a conclusive sentence.

  4. Let’s try it out…. • Writing Prompt: We all have a favorite subject to learn about. Think about one subject that is your favorite to learn about in school. Write to explain why that subject is your favorite.

  6. Introduction/ Conclusion There are millions of pieces of literature in America. Everything from Langston Hughes to William Shakespeare. This is why I love language arts. It gives me an opportunity to explore the different types of literature throughout the English language among other things. For me, no other subject compares. Language Arts is my favorite subject because I love reading literature, I have a great teacher, and I learn how to improve my writing. To wrap it up, there is so much to Language Arts which makes it my favorite subject. I love reading literature from the various genres we cover in class.I also have a great teacher that allows us to read novels that interest us.Most importantly though, I know I want to go to college and Language Arts helps me improve on those writing skills I will need. Overall, Language Arts is the best subject ever!

Before you begin writing, think about the effects of having homework on the weekend. Now write to convince teachers whether students should have homework on the weekend. • Create a Planning Sheet, Introduction, and Conclusion
