What are Nuclear Subs? • There are four major things to a Nuclear Submarine • Attack Center • Sonar Room • Propulsion and Power • Life Aboard • The one that has nuclear power involved is the propulsion and power part of the sub • The nuclear reactor heats the water to make steam that makes the propeller turn

An Experts take on a Sub • “The New Attack Submarine is designed for multi-mission operations and enhanced operational flexibility.” Secretary of Defense October 1993 • He is talking about how the new subs would be able to be used in all types of water warfare, including open-water and battlespace dominance

Usage of Nuclear Subs • All though the subs didn’t have much speed, endurance, and mostly were on the surface they help out in WWII • By destroying all types of ships in the water subs were able to be used to cut down the enemy’s supplies • They were also used as the ultimate naval blockade by both sides
