Preparation High school & college prep classes → algebra, biology & chemistry with labs HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Nurse 325: Medical Dosage Calculations Math 34: Pre - Algebra or eligible for Math 100 - Elementary Algebra EngRd 310 – Prose Analysis & Interpretation Read, write, comprehend, speak English

  5. Educational Requirements PROOF OF ONE: High school graduation (transcript) GED scores Prior college degree Foreign high school evaluation for equivalency in U.S. (NACES)

  6. Other Requirements READING: If no A. S. Degree or higher will need: ENGRD 11: Reading Skill Development or Eligible for ENGRD 110: Efficient Reading PHYSICAL Physical Examination CPR with AED Background check and drug screening

  7. Prerequisite Courses BIOL 100 Intro to Human Anatomy & Physiology (3 units) or BIOL 430 (5 units) & BIO 431 (5 units) Need minimum 3.0 GPA AH 110 Medical Language (3 units) FCS 340 or NUTRI 300 Nutrition (3 units) FCS 324 Human Development (3 units) Minimum combined GPA of 2.5 for above three classes TOTAL PREREQUISITE UNITS = 12 units

VOCATIONAL NURSING COURSES First semester: Units VN 120: Meeting Adult Basic Health Needs (14) Second semester: VN 130: Meeting Health Needs of All Age Groups (12) Third semester: VN 140: Meeting Complex Adult Health Needs (12) PSYC 300: General Principles (3) TOTAL VOCATIONAL NURSING UNITS 41

Financial Costs Background Check & Drug Screen urine test ($98) CPR with AED – Health Provider ($60) Books, uniforms, Nurse Kit, supplies ($1500) Malpractice insurance ($40) Physical Exam, Immunizations, PPD, flu shot ($140) Tuition ($36 x 41 units)=$1476 Graduation and licensing fees ($300) T O T A L = $3614 (Plus access to computer, Internet, printer, ink, paper)
