Enhancing Research Information Integration: NARCIS, CRIS, OA Publications, and Data Exchange

The NARCIS project, showcased during the euroCRIS Strategic Seminar on September 20, 2005, aims to streamline the integration of research information systems in the Netherlands. In collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, NWO, and VSNU, it seeks to enhance data accessibility and minimize administrative burdens through improved cooperation among research institutes. By leveraging intelligent data collection methods, NARCIS aims to establish a national portal for research information, linking datasets, publications, and research activities for better information flow and utilization.

Background Increasing connection between activities: electronic application procedures, management research information systems, academic repositories, exchange of data between the systems Increasing cooperation between institutes involved in research information Datacollection is not an easy job and expensive: increasing need for agreements on who is collecting which data when and where.
