The Boondock SaintsNumber 6 • Actors: Willem Dafoe, Sean Patrick Flannery, Norman Reedus, David Della Rocco • Synopsis: After receiving a divine message, Two Irish brothers in Boston go on a killing spree to rid the town of its high crime mobsters while being tracked by the FBI. • Why it’s so great: It’s funny, clever, and violent. If Kubrick and Tarantino collaborated on a project, it would probably be very similar to Troy Duffy’s “The Boondock Saints”.

Fight ClubNumber 5 • Actors: Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Helena Bonham Carter, Meat Loaf • Synopsis: After randomly meeting on an airplane, a soap salesman and dull insomniac become close friends and form an underground “Fight Club” as a way for men to vent their aggressions. As the club becomes more popular, it evolves into something more intense and catastrophic. • Why it’s so great: Its based on the modern novel by Chuck Paluhniuk. Its witty, violent, and insightful with crazy twists and turns throughout.

Ferris Buller’s Day OffNumber 4 • Actors: Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jennifer Grey, Jeffrey Jones • Synopsis: The charismatic high school wise guy has no problem convincing people to get what he wants, except for the school’s principal. This movie follows him and his friends on their day off as they are being pursued by the principal. • Why it’s so great: It’s so funny. Ferris can do absolutely nothing wrong and it’s so silly to see the Principal get in more trouble than the lying teen. It just makes you want to say “Ferris Bueller is my hero!”

Jackson, Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Ving Rhames • Synopsis: This movie follows several different stories including diner bandits, a professional boxer on the run, two hitmen, and a gangster’s wife. But all of these stories are directly connected. • Why it’s so great: It’s confusing, funny, and violent. Tarantino delivered this phenominal movie filmed out of sequence and in a unique style that just makes it so great.

Rocky Horror Picture ShowNumber 2 • Actors: Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O’Brien, Meat Loaf • Synopsis: A newly engaged couple break down on the side of the road in the middle of the night. When they go to a large castle for help, they enter the strange world of Dr, Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite from the planet Transylvania. • Why it’s so great: Two words” Glam Rock. This movie is a tribute to Science Fiction, Rock and Roll music, and comedy. It’s very different but totally wicked.

Hairspray 07Number 1! • Actors: Nikki Blonsky, Christopher Walken, John Travolta, Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, James Marsden, Queen Latifah, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, Elijah Kelley, Allison Janney • Synopsis: In 1960s Baltimore, a chubby girl dreams of being on a local hit tv dance show. When she makes it, her goal becomes even bigger: to integrate white and black dancers on the show. • Why it’s so great: It’s a remake of the John Waters film and hit Broadway Tony-award winning show. It’s the best feel-good movie ever with a great cast, great music, and great dancing.
