  5. What is International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (IB- MYP) ? The MYP is: • For students aged 11 to 16 • A framework of academic challenge • 8 subject groups, plus personal project in the final year. At CMS kids choose French or Spanish • Taught in any language

  6. What we cover in this class • 6thgrade covers Unité 1-2: introductions, Alphabet, Numbers, greetings, farewells, holidays, dates, weather, colors, commands, questions • 7th grade covers Unité 1-4: includes 6th grade, time, present tense conjugation, culture, home and school vocabulary, adjectives, feminine and masculine nouns, être, adjective agreement, infinitive verbs, likes and dislikes, interrogatives, negation, avoir and faire and expressions. • 8th grade covers Unité5-8: includes 7th grade, descriptions, family, geographical verbage, dwellings, future plans, immediate future tense, Paris, readings, shopping, adornments, -ir verbs, money, finite past tense , food

  7. Classroom Supplies Needed This Year: • 3-ring binder • Black/blue pens • Notebook paper • Supplies for masque project • (end of April, beginning of May)

My grading and homework policy • Grade Distribution: 25% - Quizzes (always on Fridays) 25% - Binder/Projects 40% - Oral Participation 10% - Homework/Classwork* *Students are allowed to turn in late work until the second to last week of the six weeks. Rule also applies for make-up quizzes. • Make-up quizzes are only given before and after school.
