  2. 2009 CHANGES (1) • Separate stage 2 and stage 3 exams • Standardisation mean 66 to 60 • Scaling mean 58 to 60 • English concession: Std component 60 to 55 (ECU, Curtin & Murdoch) • Increment of 15 to stage 3 (announced 2007) • Scaling Refinement (announced August 2009)

WA School Leaver Admission Requirements • Prerequisites (for some courses ) - scaled mark ≥ 50 in specified TEE subjects or WACE courses (stage 3 only) - Interview, Audition, Portfolio • Tertiary Entrance Rank TER (ATAR) - TEA, sum of best 4 scaled marks (out of 400) - Can count scaled marks from 2005 to 2009 - Unacceptable subject combinations - TER (ATAR) derived from the TEA

TERTIARY ENTRANCE RANK TER(ATAR) • TER (ATAR) indicates your rank position in the total Year 12 school leaving age population in WA • That is, a TER (ATAR) of 75.00 means you have achieved better than 75.00% of all the Year 12 school leaving age people in WA • TER (ATAR)s are equivalent with other states’ ranks Called ATAR (was UAI) in NSW/ACT, ENTER in VIC and TER in TAS, SA and WA • 2009/2010 change of name by all states (except Qld) to Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)

ELIGIBILITY FOR UNIVERSITY COURSES To be considered for a course(s) at Curtin, ECU, Murdoch or UWA you need to have: • Achieved the WA Certificate of Education (WACE); and • satisfied the Competence in English requirement for the university concerned; and • met any course prerequisites; and • achieved a TER (ATAR) high enough for the university course(s) concerned. As a guide, Indicative TER (ATAR)s for courses are printed in the 2010 TISC Guide and at www.tisc.edu.au FURTHER INFORMATION As you have not achieved competence in English for one or more universities, you may sit STAT to demonstrate your competence in English by achieving the appropriate standard for one or more of the universities above.
